Its been a while but I seem to remember a guy trying to leave Springwood over and over(a bus scene comes to mind) but he would always wake up back in the town. Its been years and its a bit fuzzy so I may be mixing up my movies.

Also I doubt that it is what he is talking about, it was just the first thing to come to mind.
