Yeah. At our old drive in we use to get double features like that. I think the idea was, show the kiddies their films first, and they either go to sleep or home when the more mature film comes on.
My fav was when they had a classic night. And they showed salems lot. Scared the shit out of me. I wouldn't look out my bedroom window for months.

My first drive in movie

My first drive in movie was when I was 5 or 6 yrs. old. It was at the local outdoor drive in. I'm sure you've seen these... Big screen outside, and speakers that went inside of the car so you could hear the movie. The movie was The Exorcist, (The original one, when it first came out). I did see several more after that, one was The Fly, (1958 verson), Night of the living dead (1967 verson), and several others. The drive in is no longer in use, however it is still there. The screen and everything. Everybody moved up to the theatre where you just sit and watch it, inside. I didn't care for that one. I prefered the outdoor drive in, myself. Now a days, I find it easier to just get the movie myself, and watch it at home. Much more quiet, Popcorn is cheaper, soda is cheaper, no ticket to buy, and most important... no standing in line.

Personally, I prefer indoor drive-ins.

Yes, you have a point there. I never thought of it in those terms. Picture it... Just go ahead and drive the car right into the theater. people will scatter, you will get your pick of any spot you want, and all the popcorn and soda you can drink, and all for free.
