I'd love to do my taxes, but my previous employer is either dragging their heals or they sent it to my old address...probably the latter. So I have to wait for it to get sent back to them and then resend it to me.

I'm expecting to get money back, as I always just put 0 for my withholdings...that coupled with the fact that I am married and she doesn't have a job usually lends itseld to a large chunk of change.

I know the "ideal" situation is to get nothing back from the government (as that means you paid exactly the right amount of tax and were able to use the rest of your money throughout the year), but I like getting a chunk back. It makes for "instant savings" that I can use to pay off a ton of emergency things or if I have nothing to pay off...a nice vacation for me and my wife.

Oh, WE do this, too!...This way we never owe, and we always get a refund

I taught Seri to do it, and she also prepares and files her own taxes now...I'm so proud of her :)

I'm thinking I might skip it this year.... Maybe that'll get me a cabinet position in Washington.

Yeah, I don't understand why anyone would wait until then to file; although one of my neighbors-he's really elderly likes to wait until he piles up a few before he files. You know how they come annually ? Well last year he did, 2004, 2005, and 2006 together. So he probably won't file this year but next to do 2007, and 2008 at the same time. I didn't think people could do it like that, but he's been doing it that way for years and hasn't got into legal trouble.

YET.

They are most probably just waiting..but they are leeches and they will get him for late returns.
