i was on the internet from almost the beginning.
we had college students doing temp work with us - they had access to their school accounts .. it was all command line - i couldnt make heads or tails out of it - all i knew was they were downloading porn and i wanted in !

soon after it was being offered by companies who provided a gui regular folks could actually use.

i remember the old days of, MIRC ... the chat groups where people tried to get laid but didnt fight. its probably the reverse now - or at least 50/50

i've had my nick since the 1st time i joined.

first time i was introduced to the world wide web was in high school, i took a computer class and instead of learning how to fix viruses and what not the teacher let us do what ever we wanted which was surf the internet....since then i went through computers here and there with aol trials, till today where im paying out the nose for it.

My Dad owns his own business and so as far back as I can remember we've had a computer. I used to just play games on it. His really old one had a very old Prince of Persia game on it. Then, eventually he set up an email account for me so I could talk to my family around the world. As time went by I just discovered more on it.

AOL are corporate pirates!! They scare me! I feel dirty just from talking about them!

I've always had computers. So I grew up around them. I think I've been using it constantly since 1996-1997? Could be wrong...Pretty sure though.

Sort of like NE, I started out on BBS's. Local ones in the mid-80's. I remember getting my first 2400 baud modem - cost about $1000!

Then some local boards got Fidonet. I remember to this day how amazing I thought that was - to be able to type a post and have it sent around the world that night, and get an answer back from the US or Europe etc the next day.

I got a look at the WWW in the 90's whilst at university, but got a taste of usenet in the very early 90's. As you can imagine, things have changed considerably. :)

I was invited to try out this new thing called the internet..
had no clue what i was doing.
My 1st chat experience was in IRC where i got to meet all these fantastic people.
I was in awe that I could talk to them from all over the world.
Got opped in many rooms and then things started getting too personal so left that.
Then I found other things that fascinated me..like gaming etc.
I never really got into yahoo or msn until a couple of years ago, then
eventually myspace..recently..but that place is starting to irritate me too.

Your right..the internet can get boring.
I wouldn't say that I have a lack of imagination 'so to speak'
Sitting online and browsing gets a bit monotonous ..
True there are thousands upon thousands of sites you can visit etc..but
as of late ..em preferring real human contact again.
