If everybody did anything they wanted to civilians in big cities like that there'd be no one left :P.

You know, I've had that one for AGES now, but never got around to playing it...should really dig it out.

Xenon 2.... still great after all these years.

I thought the xenon series was pretty popular though?
I dunno, can't pick it out of all the other games of that style to remember clearly m'self.

That dracula game that came out a while ago...malakai was it?
nosferatu, the wrath of malakai, that was it.
I think it just suffers from being lesser known, but yeah, it was great.
Hard, but awesome atmosphere.

The oh-so-clever gameplay just sucks. You wanna fight the evil you're up against, not run away from it. That was the case with the original Siren.

At least in the new Siren: Blood Curse you get the chance to more or less fight them off. But i still don't appreciate the concept.

Monsters are scary. In the event of a monster attack, the chance of people having guns on hand to blow the brains out of the zombies under all circumstances isn't too high. Siren is the only survival horror game where there monsters are as deadly and unpredictable as an actual monster outbreak would be in real life. The remote viewing stuff is also cool. Siren isn't always fun, but it's hardcore and innovative.

Hardcore??

In what way?

It's not like the "monsters" do a lot of scary stuff. They just.... well.... wanna kill you. :) Nothing special about that.

You really should. It's short though. I beat it 100% in about three days.

A survival horror game where the player is virtually defenseless is pretty rough gameplay difficultywise. At one point out of nowhere, there's a flying thing. The whole game, you have no reason to believe the things can fly. Suddenly, one of them flies at you. I would say that's pretty novel. There's a sharp learning curve in Siren that you rarely see. They'll also pursue you pretty far.

I will say Left4Dead just the same thing all the way and nothin much to do just shoot but the graphics are amazing and when the infected come running at ya thats great but gets boring after about 1/2 hr of playing it....was mega disapointed with it and was looking forward to that game.

Phalanx 01-12-2009 05:29 AM

Was that a plane flying overhead, or...?
