That looks like a pretty damn big spider, wow. I wouldn't want that thing on my arm, or anywhere else. Hope it doesn't pop out at you again.

I don't know. That's not a question that would occur to me if I saw it on my arm or any where close to me. :D I would just freak out cuz it's a big spider.

I have two huntsman spiders, one very large, one small that I just grabbed recently - I believe they're a relative to the tarantula.
They don't sell them as pets, but they're quite common so I've made a few "sanctuaries" for them to live in.
They're not bad, generally if one enters your house it'll just run away from you and rarely approach people like some stupid outdoor breeds.
I can touch/hold the larger one without really aggravating it - he'll just crawl about on you. His abdomen feels like a soft furry marble.
HUGE scary-ass fangs, but they rarely attack people at all...relatively harmless if they do, they just kind've leave painful stab wounds.
I'll see if I can get some pics.

I plan to get different breeds if I can.

It's just a matter of association - a lot of people are dead scared of non-venomous snakes on account of the poisonous ones, humans are not often going to be harmed by what they fear.

if theres one thing i hate, its painfull stab wounds....your going to post pics of your stab wounds?

i still hate when a snake strikes you, thats why i dont deal with them at all any more. i used to have three..

Nono, it's never bitten ME, it's just that that's what happens if they do, big fangs, pump a bit of anticoagulant type spider stuff I guess...
I'll see if I can get some pics of the spiders themselves though.

I'm not afraid at all of non-venomous snakes (as long as they don't bite me). I really think a lot of snakes have beautiful markings. I held boa constrictor once at the zoo a long time ago. It was probably about 7 ft long. It felt pretty cool except that I had a tube-top on (if you're old enough to remember those) and the snake was draped around my neck and as it moved it kept making my tube-top slide down and I had to keep pulling it up. It was kind of funny. But I was totally relaxed and really enjoyed holding the snake.

Spiders...totally different story...they terrify me. But those little baby tarantulas appealed to me for some reason.

YES! Pictures! That would be awesome. Even though spiders scare the hell out of me, I am fascinated with looking at them, pictures that is.
