Moon of the Wolf by Leslie H. Whitten. I recommended it to Nella a few weeks ago. Expertly written, solidly crafted, exciting. I suspect its out of print so check a used book store if you're interested.

What I've read so far by Richard Laymon is awesome.
Endless Night is the first one I had ever read.
Edge of your seat horror.
But I recommend the good old classics for true creepy stories.
