Ah, I've been found out! ;)

While it's not the original Dumas I still think it's entertaining.

R or PG-13, I think those demons flying around really turned me off of the film anyway.

I'm hoping those are crazy dream sequences, since aside from the names of things, there is nothing even remotely supernatural or fantasy about Max Payne. Since the developement team was Norwegian, everything was from norse mythology. Although even the first time through the game, I had to groan at "Ragna-rock". Thats just bad.

Yeah, if those aren't dream sequences it will be a joke of a movie. I was thinking since they were featured in the trailer so often it couldn't possible be a dream but then I remembered the trailer for The Beach.

They're suppose to be Valkyries, not demons. Personally, I think they're cool and the whole trailer gave me kind of a "Crow" feel.

I've never played the game, but I'll see the movie (whether it be theater or DVD), I think it looks good.

The whole P-13 thing is lame, though. I think more movies should be R, it's not like it stops the kids from seeing it anyway.

They had nothing to do with the game though, it's like taking a novel and adapting it only to add some crazy supernatural elements that never existed.

Yeah, the whole point o fthe game was for it to be a gritty modern day Film Noire style crime drama, with some heavy comic book elements. Nothing even remotely supernatural about it.

Oh.

Well you gotta take these movies with a grain of salt. :p

Honestly, I play very little video games and people are always upset with it doesn't follow the game or the book or whatever, but that doesn't really matter. What matters is if you enjoy the movie, not how truthful it was to the game/book.

Case in point--Nightwatch

Great movie, great book, not very similar. I like both, but for different reasons.

I guess it's just tough when the source material sets it up for a movie that could be a great showcase for a genre that sees less and less films coming out.
