I try to make the little guys look as creepy and real as possible.

Oh, and since I'm in publicizing mode, please feel free to read this interview with crabapple here at Cinefear...

Very, very cool, Crabbie. I wondered what you did for a living.

Did you go to the Tom Savini special effects school?

crabapple 06-01-2008 04:16 PM

Actually no, but I did do some teaching at a makeup school about ten years ago, and Savini (a very nice guy!) was one of our guest instructors at that time. I've always liked his monsters, they have such a crazy style to them.

nice work crabby

do ya sell many of those?

crabapple 06-01-2008 06:01 PM

I've sold a good bunch of them--seventy or eighty, something like that. I've been busy with other projects just recently but I thought I would put one up for sale, you know, uh, to help pay for gasoline.

You don't drive :D

crabapple 06-01-2008 06:28 PM

As you well know from our various moonlit "excursions," Nova, I do, in fact, drive.

do you remember names of the buffy and angel episodes you've worked on? cause I'm feeling in a Jossy mood and would l ike to see something you've worked on.

crabapple 06-01-2008 07:03 PM

As far as I can remember, I worked on all the episodes produced in 2000...television work is frantic, you scramble to get everything done for one week's episode, and then you rest on the weekend, and then you're on the next week's episode. The show kind of owns your existence. You can save some money, unless you are spending it hanging out with some lovely creature. :o

While this was happening, I recall, I would get home in an evening and be awake for about 15 minutes, and would pass out. I would use those 15 minutes to do something that I chose to do, like read a book or watch a few minutes of some movie, and this would help to convince me that a small part of my life was still my own!

missmacabre 06-01-2008 07:08 PM

ooh so you did all the Adam and initiative episodes. Some of the better special effects up until season 7 imo. Great work.
