[QUOTE=missmacabre;635609. Any shmuck can put together some gorey scene .[/QUOTE]
A Lizard in Woman's Skin, Four of the Apocalypse, Don't Torture a Duckling, Seven Notes in Black and Perversion Story? All well made Lucio Fulci films!:) |
I would put my money on Fulci as long as you look at the variation across his entire carrer and not just the gore films of the early 80's. I like Bava and Argento but Fulci is my messiah.

Mario Bava is the best outta those guys for me, I dig Fulci a lot more than Argento's self indulgent artwank.

Argento
For me, Fulci is more of a guilty pleasure. The gore and stuff you can't take your eyes off, but technically, Argento is a true auteur. Comparing Suspiria to Zombi is like comparing Psycho to Friday the 13th.

I've enjoyed watching films from Fulci, Argento, and Bava , have movies from all three in my collection, don't recall seeing anything from Lenzi though . Really think each director has made some damn good ones, and Asia Argento (Dario's daughter) is coming into her own now as a Director, thought she did an amazing job on "The Heart Is Deceitful Among Other Things" . ~Blood D~

For a smart, stylized scare, I choose Argento; for fun & gore, Fulci; and then when I want to savor some gothic goodness, I watch Bava.
You can't go wrong with any of them! |
