I think he was suspected of 2, maybe 3 murders he may have done himself(1 with a sword). No bodies, no weapons, and no coherent witnesses prevented him from getting tagged for them. If they could prove any of them, he, technically, can be retried, and face the death penalty, even now. Anybody willing to talk, tho, is either long dead, or can't "remember".

I always pictured Charlie opening a string of hair salons after his release.

At the very least, according to Colin Wilson's latest book, he shot a guy in the chest and left him for dead on his own and was there to tie people up and have others kill them. Tying somebody up and ordering somebody to kill them makes you legally responsible for a murder.

They ran a pretty interesting special on ABC about a month ago, i guess athorities suspect more bodies believed to be manson family victims are somwhere out in death valley and they are out there trying to retrieve them. The reporter also stated there are rumors Manson is sick but prison officials at corcoran wont give any details. One more interesting thing the special reported Vincent Bugliosi the the attorney that prosecuted manson and his family has a new controversial book out called " the prosecution of George Bush for murder" The media has completely ignored this book i wonder why?
