I think this may be a case of someone getting two actors mixed up.....maybe Dennis Hopper? :D

I have no trouble with subtitles, and that is a good thing since I am really into foreign horror. Audition IS fantastic. And I think Miike is one of the most intriguing directors of late.....but I have to admit, I have seen a couple of his films I just don't care for that much. But they are always interesting, that's for sure....;)

which ones are not up to much.......at least ill know what to avoid....

i laughed when she told me about only watching battle royale.......i was like have you seen my dvd collection....?

my mum only has a problem with subs cause she cant look at jet li as much when its a subbed film.....

Well, don't go by me.....the ones I dislike other people really seem to like. I think I just don't get it sometimes.....;) I have yet to finish Ichi the Killer, I think it was my mood at the time, I plan to try to watch it again soon. Visitor Q I didn't like much at all, it was highly recommended to me by a couple of people though.

I can't stand a dubbed film, completely takes me out of the movie, but I do have a friend that simply refuses to watch movies with subtitles. She says it hurts her brain....LOL...she finds it as distracting as I find dubbing. :p

the_real_linda 05-22-2007 04:31 PM

:D :D dubbing is really bad but is watchable.....its just the accents are overdone or just plain American so it loses its authenticity.....i think having subs make you take more notice of a film.......

im easily distracted......and it helps you remember it.......well it does me

i think cause i learn or whatever if i read something so it sticks with me...

( i watch some english speaking films with subs on sometimes........cause my sister is noisey little tyke in the mornings and 9pm-10pm......im not sure why:confused: )

swiss tony 05-22-2007 10:46 PM

i love dario argento and everything he has done but the dubbing does tarnish his movies a little. i would much prefer them in subtitles or to use all english as a first language actors.
