They have to have some way of knowing, and assuming that their organs (all of them) don't work what else could it be? If you mix and match it becomes contradictory.

But they can't process their food to really MAKE poop, so if everything they ate just fell out of their butts, it would have to get past all of the zombies OWN organs that would be in the way...I mean, they'd be stopped up by their own guts, so they couldn't possibly poop anything out...That's why they'd have to explode

I don't know....But, when you poke their eyes out, they're blinded, and I've seen some of them raise their heads and 'sniff' the air...So, it would seem that SOME organs MUST be functioning...

Could it be just the organs in close proximity to the brain, since the brain is what makes them function in the first place?

but weren't the original "zombies" just people thet were thought to be dead from some type or body function-slowing poison that had been buried as dead and then dug them selves out or came back to "life" at a funeral ceramony and scared the shit out of voodoo practicers

but you need the spine to function too and to send all the motor functions like walking with a bum leg
