A simple look around the forum would have told you where to post the thread. A simple search would have shown that VampireClown already had a thread on the same topic. Lastly, bagging on someone because they liked a movie you didn't is childish, immature and mentally retarded. We as individuals have different tastes. We all cannot be as refined as you trick. Scream may have been the origin of a lot of other sucky movies, but that doesn't mean that Scream itself is bad. I found it a rather enjoyable watch.

While not on my top 20 list of horror movies, Scream was a fresh look at horror. It made fun of itself. Not something I would buy but I do watch it whenever it is on TV.

Scream was not even close to Halloween. Scream was a new direction in the genre. It was not the typical teen slasher flick that was seen up until that time.

Scream was made to be made fun of, purposely. It's amazing in the fact that it knows it's own flaws, unlike Friday films or other cheesy horrors. Its slick and sophisticated in the way that it made itself stupid. It's a paradox of defining horror.
