Hardly went to see any movies this year....the only nominees that Ive seen are Pursuit of Happyness, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Superman Returns.

Will Smith was pretty good in Pursuit of Happyness, but I really hope that wasnt the best performace of the year.

Gonna have to grab me some DVDs...anyone have a list of nominees that have been released on DVD already?

RYAN FUCKING GOSLING! HELL YEAH~!

Ok, that aside, I do have a couple problems with the nominations:
-Steve Carell should've gotten nominated instead of Alan Arkin
-Not enough nominations for Children of Men
-Ditto for The Fountain

Other than that, I actually can't complain
EDIT: Also, Dreamgirls pretty much got the nominations it deserved. It was nowhere NEAR best movie of the year

Dreamgirls looks pretty cruddy to me, of course it is getting tons of acclaim...

Of course, again, every cruddy musical that comes out gets the same treatment. The few that I was forced to watch were painfully bad! Didn't "Chicago" get nominated or even win best picture a few years back? I'm starting to feel sick.

Over The Hedge should had been nominated instead of Cars.

I haven't watched an animated movie in a number of years.

I liked both movies. But I do think Cars was great. And I think it should win. But it's a damn good thing I never bet money on who's gonna win at the oscars, cuz I'd be broke if I did.

Oh, Dreamgirls was bad. 2 hours, felt like 3, and (this is said with complete lack of hyperbole) they could've cut 10 musical numbers from this movie. I say it got the nominations it deserved because the nominations seem to be mostly for stuff like costume design and songs. The only 'creative' Oscar nomination I think it deserved was for Eddie Murphey.

I didn't get to the movies as much as I would've like for the last handful of months of '06 so with missing so many films I don't have much debate for or against anything.

I'd just like to see Gosling and Murphy win. Also, as straight edge as it'd be for Clint to pick up another one(as he rightfully did the two previous times imo) I really think it's about time they give Scorsese his waaaaaaaaay overdue oscar already.
