I couldnt care less about "flashiness"...most of my favourite movies were made long before Jaws came out, and with a hell of alot less $$$ behind them. I just didnt find Jaws entertaining at all.

fair enough = but i still think if you saw this film - when it came out - in the theatre - you'd probably appreciate it a lot more..

Jaws probably did more harm to worldwide shark populations than regular fishing and pollution combined.

Hence me having a severe dislike of Peter Benchly... he was a marine biologist who profitted from feeding people's fear and ignorance. It wasnt until very late in his life that he made any attempt to rectify things, and that was too little too late in my opinion. jerk.

did you cut and paste this from the last time you ragged on the guy ? :D

same with carpenter ... he did more to sully the already tarnished reputation of homicidal insane psycho killers than anyone else.

The Hellraiser series.

Never cared much for them, and never bothered to see any of 'em cept the original. Least interested in the remake too. I dont know why, but the original itself didnt appeal to me one bit so I never bothered with the rest.
Same with Dead Alive. So many on here dig the movie as being the goriest, and give kudos to the lawnmower scene at the climax, but it didnt appeal to me one bit. Same goes for Cannibal Holocaust, Bad Taste etc.

I dunno, maybe I get turned off by too much gore I guess. I dig movies like Se7en, Final Destination, The Omen, Session 9, Halloween, Alien, The Haunting, Rosemary's Baby, Eyes Without a Face, Suspiria, Saw etc. Great atmosphere, excellent direction and pace, believable characters and engrossing storyline. Now thats my line!!:D

Henry: Portait of a serial killer.

hated it. I am intimately familiar with the story of henry lee lucas and ottis toole, and the movie had next to nothingto do with how things went, at least according to the two of them.
