I saw a short blurb on this in Newsweek and thought it sounded very cool. I loved Devil's Backbone, so this one is on my must-see list.

Oh,I really want to see this one.The devils Backbone was really good.i just hope it comes out here,If not I'll have to wait until its out on video...:D

I agree, I am VERY excited for this one. Newsweek had a great write up about it also. For those who have not Seen The Devil's Backbone, if your expectations get too high then you might be slightly disappointed. But it is great... I prefer Del Toro's foreign films to his Hollywood Hellboy stuff... My only concern about Pan's is that the protagonist is a little girl...this could take something away slightly...sorry but I have trouble relating to little girls...

Which proves that the Academy is at least making an effort to convince people that their corrupt little group is fair.

yeah they gotta give noms for some good films...i love reading the pick for worst films more tho-

from imdb

Meanwhile, the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, which nominates the worst films of the year the day before the movie academy nominates the best, selected Basic Instinct 2, BloodRayne, Lady in the Water, Little Man, and The Wicker Man as its candidates for worst picture of the year. Tim Allen, Nicolas Cage, Larry the Cable Guy (Dan Whitney), Rob Schneider, and Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans were nominated for the worst actor Razzie. Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Kristanna Loken, Jessica Simpson, and Sharon Stone had the dubious honor of being nominated in the worst actress category.

Roderick Usher 01-24-2007 09:08 AM

The cattiest remark I heard surrounding the Razzies was the proposed nomination of Sharon Stone's aging breasts as Worst Onscreen Duo.

I still think she's lovely, but that remark had me rolling.

Vodstok 01-24-2007 09:20 AM

HAHA!

I have actually thought she hasnt looked all that great for years (not really my type anyway)

At any rate she HAS to be better than Meg Ryan... She reminde dme of the southpark episode with the ski competition....

"Quaaaaade... Start the reactor..."

One of the greatest pop-culture references wrapped in a hilarious sick joke, ever... And referred to amovie with Sharon Stone. See? These things always come full circle :)

Pan's Labyrinth is truely one of the most visually pleasing films I think I've ever seen. It's beautiful and horrifying, and it does such a nice job touching that hard subject of loss of innocence. It shows us a strong message but doesn't shove it in our faces. Every performance, line, monster, and set was perfect.

And I think we have a new contender for most humanly evil villian: Capitán Vidal was vicious!
