Hunt for Red October (just ignore Connery's accent, listen to the rest of the sub crew)

White Knights - if you're comfortable watching this sort of thing

Nightwatch
Solaris - watch without subtitles and really LISTEN to the accent - and watch how they move their mouths as they produce sounds. You don't need to know what's being said in order to learn the specific vowel and consonnent sounds.

I've done some acting as well and have had to learn a few accents. It's about paying attention to the physiology of the sound, not just trying to imitate it.

Good luck!

Why do I want to listen to Russian accents, you might ask?

I just landed a part in a production of Fiddler on the Roof, as the Russian constable. One of my weaknesses as an actor is that I'm awful with accents...I want to work on this one as much as possible, so any suggestions would be much apreciated.

I really dont care what kind of film you suggest. Horror is obviously a prefrence, but Im pretty much open to anything.

Thanks in advance.

this might seem like the dumbest ever ... but what about Fiddler on the Roof ?

I never watch a movie version of a play that Im in until after we're finished. Almost every show that Ive done has a film version, some have many (Christmas Carol, Peter Pan, Treasure Island, ect.)...I just think it's cheap to watch the film before hand. Even though it might not be the biggest part, I like to make it my own, not be influenced by another actor who portrayed the same role.

Thaks anway though:p

I remember a few, but when I read this one in particular came to mind.
Not in a movie. It was an episode of the 2004 mtv (way cool) spider-man series, the digitally animated one that was kind set between the two movies...There was an episode where these guys in flying armoured suits (I think they called the team "terradaxx") held a news station, including parker, hostage.
The leader of the group was played by James Marsters (Buffys "spike"), and another one of the guys had some stereotypical russian name like "Dimitri" or something...he didn't talk much, but when Parker started sneaking in and out as spiderman and kept changing his identities, he stole the guys radio.
The guy starts going crazy looking around for it, and in the most dumbass russian accent he goes
"Vhere ees my kom-uu-nee-kaytorrrr? who took my kom-uu-nee-kaytorrrr?!?"
Makes me laugh every time.
