No wonder we're all so stressed.

The Jerk is funny on many levels. I think liking it is a sign on intellectuality.

Nothing is more cerebral than his dad reading that he might get more work because his new girl is goingot give him a "blow job" and his brother starts losing it while everyone els ehtinks she's just some sweet little thing that s going ot help him make more money.

LOL, for example as much as I love the horror flicks, my husband likes stupid comedies! I CANNOT waste my time on a stupid movie, like for instance (and I don't mean to offend anyone) he wants to go see Jackass II! I would rather stay home and clean out the garage then go to that!

LOL, see I am picky. Again sorry I did not mean to offend anyone.

I seriously doubt that will offend anyone here. I mean come on, we are the HORROR critics. We are on your side. ;)

Jackass II....Not something I want to waste my time on.

Hmmm....I seem to be the only one so far whose grown less picky so far. Or perhaps it's just that I've grown to love cheese more with every passing year.

well ive started doing media production at uni this year so ill watch anything if it widens my knowledge of films....my prof said that there's no spare time doing this course cuz we got to watch films every spare second we get....which is what i do anyways.

stubbornforgey 10-03-2006 12:48 PM

tell you what..
em getting worse.
in fact em more critical of what ever we are watching.
I think mebbe it could be becos growing up with come great classics n some pretty awesome remakes..more or less you have seen it all...
the movies nowdays are typically predicatble

the_real_linda 10-03-2006 12:51 PM

i am a moan when i watch stuff tho.....i winge on about films i love and have huge debates over the smallest things with my mate vincent......we delve way too deep into some films, but i try to see a lot

I find that my tastes overall have matured a little...I think I'm more open to trying new kinds of movies I may not have watched at a younger age.
Asian films, black and whites, "mature" sci-fi...never gave those much of a chance, now some are among my favourite films.
With that, I've left behind a few crappy "explosion" films...loved those as a kid, now I just find them a chore.
I generally won't judge a film 'til I've watched it, but yes...I don't find I'm generally as satisfied with movies these days...I expect thats the deal with a lot of people, as you grow, you figure out your tastes...etc.

orangestar 10-03-2006 12:57 PM

I'm still a kid, so I'm not all that picky on what I watch. I'll give almost anything a chance, but it takes a lot for me to really like a movie.

stygianwitch 10-03-2006 01:02 PM

I think it's more a case of... my tastes have changed as i've got older, i'm also more willing to watch something outside my usual choice, which i wouldn't have entertained doing when i was younger
