Haha, good replies guys. The reason I haven't seen most of those is because I am not in to the type of films such as The Godfather or Bravheart and Gladiator. I will give them a go, though.

Candy Stripers (the porno?)
Haha, nooo. It's some B-movie I picked up. I skimmed it and I don't think it's porn - or if it even has any sex. About demon-like candy stripers and some patients in their hospital. Mainly some collage-age boy who thinks something is wierd.

I got tired of the repetitive 'atrocities' to be found in Asian Category III films (rapes conveyed with over the top zelousness, extreme gore made comedic though silly sound effects, and, worst of the all, the reliance on the 'flashback' style accompanied by misplaced humour). Parts of Ebola Syndrome and The Untold Story remain shocking, but these kind of productions do not seem to have progressed intellectually or cinematically in the last decade.

Indie zombie films all seem to look the same now too - more blood, more Romero homages, same old narrative, bad acting and in-jokes.

Rather than put trust in some of these films left gathering dust, I'd rather discover something like Wolf Creek from Blockbuster...

Braveheart and Gladiator are two of the better movies on your list. I know what you mean about not your type of movie, but they are so good they transcend types. I cried for both of those movies and I'm not usually a cryin' girl...

you'd be suprised !

i'd say 90% of those are beta/vhs/dvd and laserdisc

any of the burned ones i have - I replace with legal used copies if they are any good .. i like the extras..

Bet buncha those LDs are the ones you picked a few weeks back from that store which was closing, Urge.

Although I know you well, you might have taken a peek at all of em already. ;)

i've been buying laserdiscs for a couple of years .. but it's over now .. the main canadian guy who sells on ebay isnt selling anymore...

the other guy who ran a store closed it - so thats done ..

although i initially bought them on ebay here and there i eventually only dealed with these 2 guys exclusively because they were honest - good business and i trusted them (both ended up being friends as well)

i pretty much have everything i could want on laserdisc these days anyway ..

but no ... i've only seen a amall fraction of the 2000+ lasers i have ..so far.

you should get around to seeing em then.

How are you gonna keep em though? Just curious cuz I read somewhere (in these threads) that LDs (for that matter CDs and DVDs too) suffer from that whatcha-may-call-it condition?
when it gets spoilt and the black-silver thingy of the LD inside the outer protective circle of the LD is affected?

damn my memory is too short...:(

Neways I m asking cuz my collection is growing too, and I have no idea how to keep em safe from any sort of damage. Do I keep em like they are, in their keep cases? or is there a better alternative?

I always do this. I get burnt copies of movies until I get around to buying them. Especially when they go out of print. I won't list any of my burned ones on my dvdaficionado page, because I don't consider a movie officially owned until I have the real thing. I see nothing wrong with it, as long as I'm gonna buy the original when I can get my grubby paws on it.
