Personally, I thought the Gmork from the Neverending Story was creepy as hell:
http://www.geocities.com/uni_midnight/ogmork.jpg As far as the Grimace goes, he was one of the Ronald McDonald friends back in the 80's. Y'know, when they still 'Liked To See Us Smile.' As far as I can tell, the Friends have been mostly phased out for some kind of wretched urban-pop theme. Anyways, The Grimace: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...px-Grimace.jpg |

Nuns too, I don't know why they scare me, but they do and I'm not even Catholic. They just creep me out with their long black robes. I was about 2 when I had to have eye surgery and I actually remember it because I saw nuns in the hospital and that's when they started scaring me. Then when I was a little older, but still a little kid, I had a nightmare that nuns kidnapped me and kept me locked in a basement. Bleh! Creeeeepy! Not a cartoon or Disney thing, but hope it still helps ya VC. :) |

Funny you should mention those damn flying monkeys in your example, cause that immediately comes to mind as something that creeped me out as a kid. I think what made them scary was the fact that they were a hybrid. I think anything that is real but exaggerated or enhanced is always scary because it seems fathomable, i.e. King Kong, Jaws and Captain Kangaroo (ok, I'm kidding about the last one). http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/wmlkangaroo3.jpg |

The Garfield Halloween special Scared the Crap outta me when I was a small child...The part where he's in this old mans house, and the old man is sitting by the fire, and then I blocked the rest out, but it was scary!
I dont know if this counts, but PeeWees big Adventure put me in the Hospital. The Large Marge part put me into shock, and I still to this day cannot watch it. |
