The best one for all 3 different people in my opinion is Intruder Uncut Version. It has some really gory murders, will appeal to the thinking fan and also to the critic alike.

So far my only idea is The Devil's Rejects.

That might be a problem.

If she didn't like '1k Corpses' for any other reasons maybe, but the fact that she thought it was ''trash and just plain porn'' leads me to believe she's not gonna like this much more.

You might not be able to keep all 3 of 'em completely happy through every movie, but the least you can do is have stuff that's going to keep the least interested person mildly entertained enough to get through to the next flick. That's what I try to do.

Se7en

gore? Check, more or less
twists? Check
Intelligence? Check twice
Appeals to the critical types? Check

Thanks for all the suggestions. :)
We've seen a few of these already (I checked) such as Frailty and The Exorcist - but there are a few that some have seen and others haven't. Scream and The Re-Animator mainly - that I WILL show, regardless, as I both think they are great films.

Dead End, Maniac, M, and Kairo caught my attention. I'll survey my sources for any copies of these, and pick up what I can.

In response to the 1k Houses comment, it's a good point. But I'm looking at it like this. TDR is a very different film, and is also a very good film. Sure, it may have the stronger nudity elements - but it adds to the movie and is not really used so fanservicy as in 1K. It's smart, fun, and has a cool factor I think #3 will really enjoy. It's stylish, but not lacking substance - if you could say that. I'm HOPING she would enjoy it, at least. If she doesn't she can leave... I'll personally throw her out in to the cold. :p

Personally, I think both movies are Ace, and Rob is definately on my top director's list.

and what of Se7en?

What about High Tension? It has some gore, some twists and suspense, and critic types tend to be impressed by the foreign dialogue :p

Event Horizon... It's got enough gore to spare, scares that will make you jump, great direction, dark/evil/beautiful cinematography, interesting plot, intelligent acting, I could go on. It's an over all good movie for horror fans and movie lovers allike.

We have all seen Se7en, I wasn't too impressed with it. Good, but nothing really memorable IMO. Overrated.

High Tension, loved it. Most of us have seen it, excluding one, and a re-watch might be in order. I'd say the critical one will hate it though. And the fact it's lesbians might be an issue with #3, I can just see her focusing more on that aspect and calling it "porn" again. Not to mention the masturbation scene. Yeah, she needs to grow up... but she often hates a movie for no reason and uses such content as an excuse. I might not invite her at all.

Event Horizon has been suggested more then once, but I really have no urge in watching it. I don't know why. I just hate alien/space horror movies, and I'm not sure why. They just NEVER please me, and I get bored easily. Not a sci-fi type, I guess.
