Long time periods of insomnia really works on you mentally and emotionally as well as physically. It's something that needs to be addressed or it can effect your job/school in very detrimental ways.

You're stress level goes through the roof and you start snapping at everyone for nearly nothing - including your Boss (experience here - nearly got intimidation charges on me) and you can actually have brief periods of black outs and find yourself in some serious situations. Trust me on this. Get checked out. Especially if you are thirty or older.

Unless you are like me then OTC sleep aides might as well be M&M's! There are times even my Rx's don't help me sleep.

Sadly, I'm immune to most over the counter medicines. Especially sleeping pills. I tried them once, they don't do anything but make me light headed and throw up. :(

Ack :( Yeah, definately don't try that then...I think like Tat2 said, it's probably time to speak with a doctor. Sleeplessness can be caused by an infinite amount of things...probably best to seek some professional advice if nothing else seems to be helping :(

No...get check out period. It is just more pressing once you hit the age of thirty. When your younger, metabolism is normally higher and the body can rebound quicker. Once you hit thirty or so, the metabolism slows and everything is amplified (healing time for injuries, sleep dep.,etc.) and can affect your long term health quicker. However, since you stated that you have some form of a heart problem, don't play around...make an appointment soon.

Well, I would recommend you put it as a priority. That new DVD, or new CD won't do you much good if you crash and burn...ya know.
