i'm just going to use an excell spreadsheet - quick and dirty.

I'll post a list of all the horror stuff here for sure.

there's a lot of stephen king.
I sold my big lot of king a couple of years ago (over 75 books in that lot)

this one wont be as big but still - there's a lot.
there'll be a bunch of Anne rice,
some John Saul,
the usual.

I find that this stuff goes well on ebay but i dont have the time anymore..

I have nothing but time:D

well, all the books are upstairs, unboxed ..
2 rooms are full.

one room with just kids books on one side .. and horror/sci-fi/fantasy on the other.

once i finish the kids books - sometime this weekend) I'll be starting on the horror..etc..

the other room is bigger and it has everything else .. fiction on one side - non fiction on the other.

i called around and no book stores at this time are buying large lots. it makes sense - they dont have the space .. and they dont pay much either ..
people arent buying books from stores lately - too expensive (they charge a lot more because of their overhead costs)

ebay is the way to go but i dont have the time and i want the books out - now.

so here's what i'm doing ..

damaged books .. out of date reference books .. go in the recycling bin.

anything thats 'nice to have' but i was going to sell it - i'll just keep.

anything that i can still sell for a good buck (no brainers) I'll keep to sell on ebay.

the rest - the vast majority - i'll just donate ..

if you make a list of those books you are going to donate...i would be willing, if there are any i would like to own or read, to pay your shipping charges for them if you would send them to me.

i just found a hardcover copy of William S. Burroughs - Cities of the Red Night.

ist edition - limited

signed by the author.

I had no idea .. probably paid 50 cents for it.

i'll be keeping this one.

sorry - i had to tell someone.

Great find (and an OLD thread, but I'm new here). I've found lots of signed stuff in thrift stores and book sales (no good horror worth mentioning though), mainly older early 20th Century stuff for some reason. One pretty cool paperback I got for a quarter at the thrift store was an autographed Tom Wolfe book, The Painted Word. Good stuff.

i've found a ton of stuff in thrift stores too ..

i found an advance signed reading copy of a Dean Koontz book but i sold it along with a big lot of his books ..(i'm not a fan)

I found several books signed by canadian authors...
(al waxman, max heines, timothy findley, mordecai richeler, etc)

i have a signed June Carter Cash, Tammy Faye Baker :)

and a Charleton Heston autobiography too ..

I always hang onto Advance Reading copies when i see them.
if the author breaks - they are worth a bit later ..

the only book i bought from ebay signed was a Ray Bradbury..

Wow that was lucky.

Wow that was lucky. I'm having trouble finding a simple book. Can't imagine finding a signed one:(

well, the major sorting is done .. i have these huge stacks of semi-organized books all over the house.

within 2 weeks i'll be completely done ..

then i can start reading some of the fuskers
