Alien
Predator (or almost anything done by Stan Winston and his crew)
Giant Ants (in 50's B movie Them!)
Tremors (only the first one, the subsequent creatures in parts 2 and 3 were very sub-standard)

Oh yeah. The original "THE BLOB" emerges as a surprisingly good movie today. Still has a solid story, GREAT characters, and cool effects. There's a Criterion Collection version that I want to buy but it's really pricey.

p.s.
Creature, if it's the same one I've seen, was definitely NOT a Tv movie. It had some boobers and plenty of naughty language.

and Klaus Kinski....who was somewhat of a creature himself.

He is probabaly talking about the Peter Benchly movie.

How about "Predator"

I actually liked AVP alright. It was kind of fun to see them fight and stuff, and i sure as hell enjoyed it more than freddy vs jason.
