MASH was set in Korea and it was meant to make a statemen about the Vietnam war. I don't think one episode of the show tries to pretend it is PRO war. Why is it that anything anti-war is automatically anti-American? Letting people see the horrors of war is a pro-American thing to do. If war was easy everyone would be doing it! People die. It's an ugly business and should be avoided whenever possible. That is not an anti-American statement. Most soldiers would rather live during peacetime too. In fact, being so intimidating that everyone is scared to go to war with your country is what every military should really want. Owning nukes is like a gorilla beating its chest. Posturing...in the hopes you won't have to use your strength and risk your resources.

War is bad. America is good. America at War is a good country going through a bad time. This too shall pass and we should all thank those who are fighting to get us through it, whether you feel they should be there or not.
