Ya, seen those. Thank God for Stuart Gordon. He is free to interpret Lovecraft as he sees fit and thats ok, but, just once, I would like to see a film based on an HPL story that stays true to the story line. No gratuetes sex, just strate Lovecraft. I belive there are works in proggress that I have seen on other web sites that are trying to stay true to the stories, but, will they hit the big screen, hell no! Alas, Lovecraft is just not for everyone. But, stay true to the faith and..Fear him who is not to be named.

Did you happen to see or enjoy the Masters of Horror short film by Stuart Gorden? Dreams in the House of Witches (I may have screwed the title up a bit). What'd you think if so? I've been looking to get more time to read and when I finish Lord Jim I'll read some more Lovecraft as I haven't read much.

Havent seen that one

No, I havent seen that one, Masters of Horror. Where did you find it? If it is on TV, Ill probably never see it as, I do not watch much of the tube anymore. Cant stand the inanity. You may know how it is though, you find somthing that really grabs you and you hang with it over the years. Lovecraft was like that for me. Theres just somthing about the idea of the proximity of his beings that changes the very nature
of the physicle world around them that fasinates me.

Have you seen Dark Heritage?

It's based on The Lurking Fear...strays ALOT from the story [As always...], but is a pretty enjoyable film. The effects are TERRIBLE, and the actors arent too great either, but for some reason or another I really liked it. Hard to find though, mine's a raggety old DVD that I got for $3 at a yard sale:D

So like, could you please tell my best friend that the Necronomicon was actually a Lovecraftian invention and not some ancient Summerian book of magic. He won't believe me. I swear! This dude is a genius, but he just can't wrap his head around the fact that the Necronomicon is NOT real. (Based loosely on real shit, I can handle).

Well

I happen to be a huge Lovecraft fan & while Lovecraft has made a wonderful impact upon my life I still prefer Robert Howard. However we're talking about Lovecraft. At the moment I'am eagerly awaiting the film adaption of At The Mountains Of Madness. I'am praying to the dark gods that Hollywood doesn't screw it up..
Welcome to the board & welcome to hell.. I loved Dagon by the way. No one has yet made The Horror At Red Hook into a film. Thats one of his that would make a killer movie. :)

not real

Dude, tell your friend that the Necronomicon exested in the mind of the old man himself. Not real! Nit, no way, uhuh. cant happen.HPL, in a letter to Derleth, said that he made it up along with Abdul Alhasered. Lucky for us it does not exest.
