Yep, ignore us. Just like you guys ignore every movie made before the year 2000:rolleyes:
I cant speak for all of us, but myself and many other members who are "flipping out" do, in fact, enjoy newer movies. Dead Birds, Dagon, Session 9, Dog Soldiers, Saw....all made within the last few years, and all among my all-time favourite horror movies. We just dont like the crappy wannabe horror flicks that are made with no more in mind than making a quick buck. The producers of these films [IE- Texas Chainsaw Massacre and House of Wax remakes, Boogeyman, Cry_Wolf] couldnt care less about scaring the audience, about making them uncomfortable, making them afraid to go to sleep at night. Hell, once they get their money, they couldnt care less what the audience thought of the movie. Now, Im not saying that all older movies are made with better intentions; movies have always been made to make money. But in years gone by, there were more filmmakers who truely cared about the genre, cared about scaring the audience out of their skulls more than lining their own pockets. Filmmakers like this do still exist, however they are in much shorter suply, and you need to look much harder to find their films.
So basically, what Im saying is go out, check out some older flicks. Drop me a PM if you want some good recomendations. There's alot more than the "horror" that's being shoved down your throats by coke-snortin' fat-cats in Hollywood.
