Serious horror? I don't know... I can't really think of too many that don't have the cheese factor. I suppose the classic horror movies are more serious. I'm guessing that Dracula, Nosferatu, The Phantom of the Opera, The House on Haunted Hill, The Mummy, and Frankenstein are all considered serious. It depends on what you consider serious I guess. Do you like horror for the blood, guts, and gore? Or do you like it for the ambience?

I was just throwing some titles out there. I really have no idea what horror movies people consider being serious. They all seem to have some cheese factor if you ask me.

I'd consider House on Haunted Hill pretty serious, as far as the classics go.
