I haven't seen this movie and I haven't read this thread but I can already tell you that movie will probably suck ass. (But I think all these American remakes of Asian 'horror' ghost stories are pretty damn lame. This one just happens to look even worse than the rest of them.)

It did, in fact, suck ass. It sucked so bad that I left the theatre. I was so bored, so to ensure the safety of all other movie goers, I left before it occured to me to pull out a bazooka and shoot the screen and the projection booth.

Great choice. And so much better than the bloated and completely inane excuse for a remake. *Sighs* Sorry I am not a fan of the remake. :(

OMGosh, I weep about that remake. I so wanted it to be good, I really did.

It was horrible. I also wanted it to be good. This is pretty much the remake that turned me off remakes. I can't believe I made it all the way through it (I actually went to see this one), I think I believed it just had to get better. It didn't.....it just kept getting worse...LOL...

I may be getting my movies mixed-up.Please help.

Is The Haunting original the one with Barbera Hersey and they do experiments to 'find' the ghosts?
And I never heard of a re-make of that.

SET ME STRAIGHT please.

What the fuck ARE you talking about, woman??

There is no Barbera Hersey in any of "the haunting" movies?

No, The Haunting is the screen adaptation of the book The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. Here is info on the original, superior, version: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057129/

The horrid remake that pretty much decided to take everything that was good about the book and original film and do exactly the opposite: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0171363/
