About bestowing membership...I came here because I wanted to find people who love horror as much as I do. I checked out the postings and saw what I liked. I checked out the New Member page to test the waters and it seems that this is the way to being accepted. On your side, though, you probably want to see if the person joining isn't going to shit up your forums. So I suppose there should be an "initiation period" and then you might then take a "vote" for membership and then issue an official invitation to join.
