Not if you shoot them in the head while they're alive...Then they don't come back...

i would just lock them up in a room so they couldn't be devoured and i would run away

you probably know how i feel about discussing 'rules' for these kinds of things but i had to ask ...

i though when the zombies rose - a la night/dawn/day of the dead ... all the dead came back to life ... regardless of how they died ?

even old half skeletons where the brain was obviously damaged by decay .. ?

i thought everyone that died came back and then the brain had to be destroyed.

Way too deep for me. I got four kids and couldn't even contemplate the question.

If they were going to die, and turn...I'd sit with them a while, comfort them. I'd say whatever they needed to hear, as they slowly bled, most likely becoming a little delerious, I'd keep talking, and mid sentence, I'd shoot them through the back of the head.
At least offer them a quick death, doesn't matter if they'd get up or not...I'd just put them out of their misery.
I'd also burn the body.
It's not about ethics really...in a situation like that, you'd HAVE to adopt a certain logic, in order to survive, and keep those REMAINING around you alive. Just like in a war I suppose, to keep yourself a step ahead, it might cost you a lil' bit of your soul.

Okay...Remember Day Of The Dead...Where a zombie got loose from the holding pin cuz the lame, wimpy dude couldn't hold it and the collar broke?...Then the other guy got bit and told the big guy to kill him so that he wouldn't become a zombie...So, the big guy shot him in the head and he didn't come back....That's just ONE example...There have been others, where people were bit, KNEW they would turn, and asked someone to shoot them in the head OR they just shot themselves in the head, so they wouldn't become a zombie...Think about it...

Let me answer this question a little differently. Can't handle the kid scenario.I couldn't even watch "Pet Sematary" when it first came out because my first born son was about the same age as the kid.
Perhaps if it was one of my best friends or maybe even my brother, I would let them turn first, then i would shoot them. Or at least beat them about the head with a blunt object.

Just face it...If it was your kids, you couldn't do it...You would die, and so would I...
