I have seen more originality coming out of the Asian market (Korean & Jap mainly)

If not try the Independent films, such as Fear X, Freeze Frame etc

I guess the film companies want to please the public at large... they play it safe instead of pushing the film to the limit

I dont care if a film is original, it doesnt even have to be that good as long as it entertains that is what matters

Its hard to do a good monster movie...if you look at the sequels "Species 2" and "Mimic 2" you will see why the director is soooo important...I'm waiting for "the Blob 2"....
