he is famous for the fact the we are talking about him and when someone says the night stalker you will know exactly who they are talking about. people may say that he is a bad person and they are probably right but he is famous and i doubt that everyone who admires richard ramirez or any other serial killer/mass murderers is "emotionally retarded". he deserves everything he got including world wide popularity, jail time (death row unless im mistaken), a nice god fearing virgin wife, and a huge fan base.

"Celebrity" is like "Exploit", there is a connotation with it that trascends the actual dictionary definition of it. And yes they are all emotionally retarded for admiring somone for commiting abject evil. This isnt a fantasy like Michael Myers or Freddy, this is actual death. people's lives weere ruined and ended by him and others like him. That is something that should be remembered, but not glorified and raised to the level of pop-culture.
Of course, judging by your avatar, i can see why you have taken the stance you have. You missed the message of the movie though, raising serial killers to iconic status is destructive, not "all in good fun".
