Could someone give me the official definition of "goon?" I see it on other forums too, and don't know exactly what it means. I assume it's another term for newbie?

a goon is someone who exists just to give other people a hard time.
in the old days it was a henchman .. a strong arm man for a crime boss. he'd send his goons over to destroy your place of business if you didnt pay protection money.

in hockey a goon is someone with minimal hockey skills ...
and maximum fighting skills. hired for their toughness
so they can protect the star players - or start shit when they are losing.

in a forum a goon is someone who is only here to fight or make posts just to bother people.

forums draw goons (or trolls) like flies to shit.

there have been several goons in this forum... there always will be.

they are the ones who really dont post anything to interract with other people and just get off on arguing.

too bad really - a waste of time and energy .. its so much easier to just have fun.
