hey check this one out! mayve she was here??
"Hello all, I am just new to this site! I need your help!! Im trying to do my dissertation at the moment for Honours in Communication and the Mass Media. I am doing it on The Female Identity in past and present horror/ slasher films, and i need ur views on the subject. As much feedback as possible would be much appreciated!! Do any of you have any views on the subject ie, the female as the victim, the man as the monster, the final girl, the different characters or just an opinion on the genre as a whole??? Its always the girls having sex with their boyfriends that are quickly killed off, while the virgin (or final girl as you put it) is the one who overpowers the bad and defeats him. Can I pick your brains on a few questions, have you get any words of wisdom on exploring the relationship between a predominantly male horror audience and the female victim/heroine. Do you agree with: Women act out of terror while men are emotionally detached from the situation of the horror film. The victim-heroine is female who "acquits herself 'like a man'," therefore by the end of the slasher horror film, the typical "feminine" characteristics become "masculinized" through the action of the film. thanks so much Please help would be so so appreciated!!" anyway this one seems nice. i want an evil one (board) |
