What's with all the band reunions? I think this will suck pretty bad and don't see why they're flogging a dead horse like this. Trying to pry every last $ out of the music buying public. Pink Floyd should've broken up after Animals. Those self indulgent fucks won't be getting any of my money.

urgeok 06-15-2005 04:35 AM

This particular reunion is for a charitable cause .. the excitement a reunion will generate will sell a lot of tickets thus further the cause.

i don tthink any member of Pink Floyd is hurting for money.

the other thing is that it provides some late coming hard core fans with a chance to see whet they thought was impossible... seeing Pink Floyd live..

speaking from experience - i saw The Softboys live after a 20 year absence - i thought it would be impossible to see something like that ..

they were fucking amazing .... every bit as valid as they were 20 years before .. to see them was a dream come true ..

Elvis_Christ 06-15-2005 04:54 AM

I'm just not into stuff like that. It had its time and place they should leave it at that.

urgeok 06-15-2005 04:58 AM

i'll use the same argument i use for remakes ... if it's bad - its bad - if it turns out to be good - then it's worth it ..

but you never know till they try.

pink floyd had a lot of miles left in them (with waters in the band)
they hadnt hit their peak yet - each album was getting progressively better ..

even The Final Cut - where only 1/2 the band played on it - and things were going very badly internally ..

brilliant angst-ridden piece of work ..

i think that had they gotten along they would have had 2 or 3 more excellent albums to put out - before they started to lose steam.
