I agree with everybody that said it should only be in if it fits in with the story. I also agree with avenger.

On my own...

I guess I'm all alone here because I personally cannot stand it when they put sex in horror movies!!! When I was a kid, I loved horror movies...many kids love horror movies and you can't let them watch them because of the stupid NUDITY!!! I don't think sex is EVER necessary in a "HORROR" movie...I, for one, have NEVER been scared by a boob or an ass...If I want to see sex in a movie, I will watch a porno (which I wouldn't)...When I watch a horror movie, I want to see blood, guts, gore and HORROR!!! If Stephen King can keep it clean, so can everyone else...Remember to think about the HORROR LOVING KIDS!!!

This is really a crazy phenomenon here in the states. I dont know about you guys but when i was growing up, my parents (and most of my friends' parents) had NO problem with really ANY amount of gore on the screen at all. They would let us watch anything as long as there is no sex in it. Now over in Europe and the other side of the world, its the opposite. There they let kids see nudity from a young age and its on network TV and most movies. Its as mundane as us seeing a gunfight on network TV. But they dont have alot of Violence on TV, well at least not as much as we do, and generally seem to be alot less tolerant of violence than us. Pretty crazy which parts of human nature which cultures seem to emphasize while subduing others.

im pretty aganst sex in all movies, its usually done so badly. you wouldnt want "acting" in a porno vid would you?

FreddyFan 12-01-2003 06:06 AM

good point neverborn. I think it should be in only if it fits in with the story like I said earlier. I myself think that parents shouldn't get mad if a kid sees somebody naked. two reasons. 1)it's nature and 2)if it's the same gender then wats the problem? the kid sees it everyday. wasn't there a time when everybody ran around naked and nobody minded it? yes there was. the sex is something kids at the age of at least 13 should be able to see because 1)there gonna learn it in school and 2)there gonna do it in life sometime soon.

I think there is something fundamentally funny about anyone who gets some kind of "charge" out of watching someone else have sex.

While it might fit into the context of the story to have two people intimate with each other, there is almost never any reason whatsoever to devote several minutes to a scene of it; any half-decent director should be able to convey the idea without showing any suggestive body parts.

A lot of horror moviesthese days are aimed at younger teens, especially young men, who have this hormone thing going on and will pay the big bucks for even a corny horror movie if they know they'll get to see some bimbo in her drawers. It's pure fantasyland.

If you have a good enough HORROR story, you don't need to pump it up with sleazy cheescake just to increase the paying audience. :o

I don't belive I can think of a scenario in which gratuitous nudity is absolutly neccessary in a horror movie. After all, it's not really scary is it?

I agree with avanger and freddyfan
