The 8th Plague ~ suprisingly.....its not bad. The first few minutes are slow, there is nothing particularly original here, and of course it has its flaws (people doing really stupid things for one, and that is usually a problem in these kinds of films). But really, its a gory good time. Recommended to those that appreciate low budget horror.

Scarecrow Gone Wild ~ yeah, pretty much what you would expect....;) Though I am disappointed by the lack of scarecrow acrobatics in this one, the first one was hilarious...*sighs*

The Covenant: Brotherhood of Evil ~ the most interesting thing about this movie was Edward Furlong's way oversized suit.....he almost seemed liked a little boy playing grown up...LOL...just impossible to take seriously, and doesn't qualify as the "so bad its good" kind of film.

Beowolf and Grendel ~ actually pretty good, a good cast, for the most part, and it looks great. I enjoyed it quite a bit. But if you are looking for a faithful adaptation of the original epic poem, you would be VERY disappointed.

And Halloween 2 is not even close to the original. Multiple viewings will confirm this.

No it's not as good, but possibly the most apt sequel ever made.

The one with Gerard Butler?
It was pretty good, I must say.
Kinda took all the supernatural elements out of it but a very good version IMO.

1408-Liked it, hated the ending though.

It's good... but the ending sucks compared to the sequal.

The sequel was definitely better. I honestly thought that the first movie was incredibly overrated, though my opinion might speak more to my own personal desensitized self... I thought it took them waaaaaaay too long to get to the hostel, and once they did, there wasn't enough torture to really justify the cult praise. Then it turned into a revenge epic that just... wasn't interesting.

At least the second film brought you to the hostel immediately... and the torture scenes were definitely up to par. I loved the end as well. The revenge epic was short and sweet. And well done.

There should be a sequels thread... Honestly, the only clear reason that horror fans have given me that Halloween 2 is a fantastic movie is that it picks up seconds after the first one leaves off. I'd say that that is the ONLY thing working for the film (that and Donald Pleasence)... There is no suspense. The murders are over-the-top and ridiculous. And the direction isn't nearly as good.

fun and strange, but far too kinky. way too many sex scenes killed the movie.
Blue Velvet is better by a mile.

You don't like sex scenes then?

They passion between the the characters is the most integral part of the story. With out the sex scenes it would not have been near as good.

To compare it to Blue Velvet is harsh, but I think they are to hard to split. I would probably say Wild at Heart, just. They can't really be compared though even if Lynch did make them both.

Well it was written by Carpenter and Hill though Rick Rosenthal directed, I think it holds up on it's own, but it always going to be linked to the first movie as it starts where the first one ends.. IT's more so the extended ending...

a sex scene or two is ok, but it was too much. i hate romance, personally, and there was more of that then there was of wierdness or violence. I didnt like the characters as much either. Bobby peru and Sailor were cool and all, but neither compare to Hopper in Blue Velvet.

Can't stand Mr. Vin Diesel. :p

And yet here I am, watching The Fast and the Furious (bf's choice, once again, not mine).
