Definitely the Howling. The opening, and the full wolf scene where the bodies where being held, after the guy pulls out the bullet in his head, help make the movie.

AWIL has a great transformation scene, but I was never a Pepper for it.

I agree, it's a great flick, but it never hit me the way it apparently hit others.

American Werewolf.
One of the best looking werewolves ever.
That, and I never really liked the howling series.
