The Usual Suspects 8 / 10

scouse mac 03-04-2006 03:24 PM

Murderball. Highly recommend this one, didn't feel like a usual sports documentary, so if anyone would be put off by such things, don't be with this one.

Fangoria BloodDrive II

DISPOSER by BC Furtney, Los Angeles, California

Decent, not bad acting, but thier wasnt much true "acting" I liked the idea and the ending.

2/5

THE GIBBERING HORROR OF HOWARD GHORMLEY by Steve Daniels, Columbia, South Carolina

How terribal it is to be crazy, filmed in black and white. I found this short to be very creepy.

3.5/5

THE JOURNAL OF EDMOND DEYERS by William Rot, Las Vegas, Nevada

Worst short of all the shorts presented, terribal audio, awful music and crappy storyline.

1/5

MAINSTREAM by Adam Barnick, Hoboken, New Jersey

Havnt watched this one yet....

MEANS TO AN END by Paul Solet and Jake Kennedy, Los Angeles, California

One of my favorites, and deffinatly the most enjoyable of all the shorts. These 2 directors were aiming more for laughs then scares with this presentation. Extremely well done in means of blood and gore. Very realistic.

5/5

SAWBONES by Brad Palmer, South Pasadena, California

decent storyline, not terribal acting, decent gore.

3.4/5

WE ALL FALL DOWN by Jake Kennedy, Santa Monica, California

Another one of my favorites of the shorts,Very good story. And incredibly creepy. Not much for blood, but didnt need it.

5/5

WORKING STIFF by Erik A. Candiani, Citrus Heights, California

Havnt watched this one yet....

The_Return 03-04-2006 08:39 PM

Overall, would you say it was better or worse than the first Bloodrive?

The_Return 03-04-2006 08:48 PM

I watched a couple tonight at a friend's house:

Rush Hour 2

I didnt particularly care for this. It had it's moments, but for the most part it was just a typical buddy comedy, a sub-genre of which I am not a fan. I haven't seen the first one, and after seeing this I have no intension to.

6/10

Muppet Treasure Island

This, on the other hand, was one heck of a movie! I saw it shortly after it came out, so needless to say I hardly remembered any of it. I was a tad worried when my friends suggested it, but I was completly surprised! This is one hilarious movie, with Tim Curry as Long John Silver and the whole Muppet crew as the rest of the cast. While some of the songs weren't great, this was an exciting, funny, and just all-around great flick! Even if you don't think you'd like a movie that features more puppets than humans, I say check it out ye scurvy dogs!

8.5/10

RavageRitual 03-04-2006 08:48 PM

Thats really tuff...I really liked the first bloodrive. And I really liked the second. But Id have to say the 1st is better for one reason.

Rob Zombie is a much better host than Juliya!

I'm watching Waiting again. I love this movie and decided to rent it again tonight. I'm at the part where they serve the "beeyatch" her special order. I love it!

That movie is hilarious! The list has about 3 bastards on it compared to 3 or 4 dozen beeyatch's.:p

Yellow Jacket 03-04-2006 10:19 PM

I'm now at the dinner rush scene. "We almost had to switch to the 10 second rule.". It sounds like my school cafeteria.

Yellow Jacket 03-04-2006 11:01 PM

Just finished watching Waiting. Just popped in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Despare 03-04-2006 11:37 PM

Rent

Wasn't my choice and I really didn't get too into it. I felt like it was made for a different audience and in the movies defense it was. What bothered me most was the fact that all the characters seemed so downtrodden but I couldn't feel an ounce of sympathy for any of them. Maybe it was me, maybe not. Some of the songs were catchy but that whole protest scene was awful in my opinion.

Yellow Jacket 03-05-2006 12:33 AM

Just finished Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and now just popped in Office Space.

Yellow Jacket 03-05-2006 05:09 AM

After I finished Office Space, I watched National Security, then I watched Caddyshack, and now I'm watching Troll. I'm watching movies non-stop today (while posting here and playing Roller Coaster Tycoon).

urgeok 03-05-2006 06:36 AM

Sadly, that's not saying much. It's damn near not saying anything at all.

Korpse 03-05-2006 11:46 AM

I agree, many/most modern horrors suck. In MY opinion, this was one of the better ones...

Well, its better than Venom or anything else I've watched in the last 6 months.

Yellow Jacket 03-05-2006 12:39 PM

Once I finished An American Werewolf in London, I watched Child's Play, then Nightmare on Elm Street, and now I'm watching Bruce Almighty.

BTW- I conned my way out of going to my Grandma's. Now, I can do what I usually do. Slouch in a chair at teh computer and watch movirs. I love my life! :D

I watched that last Friday, thought it was pretty damn good... REALLY disliked Chucky at the end (real bad mofo!), Awesome! I might put the 2nd one on tonight :D

Despare 03-05-2006 02:22 PM

Waiting

I was really dissapointed because so many people told me this movie was sooooo funny. It was ok, wasn't as good as I had hoped though. I'd rather have watched Clerks again.
