Forgetting is one thing. Saying "I sent in my answers, I shot this person" and actually not having done anything is another.

Again, soooo sorry. I don't know how that could have slipped my mind, literally seconds before I sent it in I looked back to check what sector I should be in.

And not sure what happened with Zero, he helped coordinate it, didn't he?

Doc Faustus 05-24-2010 02:35 PM

He did. Then disappeared into the trees.

Zero 05-24-2010 04:45 PM

SHENANIGANS!!! I declare SHENANIGANS!!

i swear by all the sacred bananas in the monkey tree - I sent my message to V. I sent it to shoot ChronoGirl (sorry babe) and i was in Sector I. I sent the message and then told MM that I had already taken my shots. I will admit that this message is not in my sent-messages but I swear I sent it - some sort of bizarre glitch. Everyone here knows I was helping coordinate the sectors and targets - I have no idea how this didn't get sent.

ChronoGrl 05-24-2010 06:09 PM

It's OK, Monkey, we'll wire your payment shortly.

friday13thfan 05-24-2010 06:14 PM

Just noticed I put for Rayne and not "To whoever needs them the most" Sorry Chrono.

Doc Faustus 05-24-2010 06:52 PM

Glitches happen. Zero helped plan. Morale and teamwork are important. Subject is dropped. We move on. We eviscerate.

I learned years ago to always, ALWAYS, check my sent messages when I send something (I even do it with hotmail, yahoo, and facebook)...It has become a force of habit that I don't even think about...The internetz is an evil, glitchy thing

Ferret almost didn't send his to the right person. We all goof sometimes.

THE NINTH CHALLENGE OF HDC BATTLE ROYALE III

I welcome both teams to the NINTH CHALLENGE of BATTLE ROYALE III.

You have to send me pictures (screen grabs) of these exact moments:-
  • - The first shot of the end credits of Spoorloos.
  • - Stone pebble striking Krista Allen's right eye for her death scene in Final Destination 4.
  • - Famke Janssen fighting her husband's ghost through a raging fire in the cellar in 100 Feet.
  • - Chelsea Field walking on the road with her back to the camera in Dust Devil.
  • - The "possessed" goat biting a character's hand in Drag Me To Hell.
  • - The wheelchair chasing Trish Van Devere down the stairs in The Changeling.
  • - A sweeping shot of the mass graves behind the killer's house during the climactic sequence of Suspect Zero.
  • - Zohra Lampert's character in the process of doing a gravestone tracing in Let's Scare Jessica To Death.
  • - The dobermans leaping towards the townspeople in In The Mouth of Madness.
  • - Amber Heard fallen inside the hole-cum-animal-grave and covered in mud and black dirt during the final scenes of All The Boys Love Mandy Lane.

There are 540 points up for grabs in the above challenge. BUT REMEMBER, THE SCREENGRABS YOU SEND ME MUST BE OF THE SAME EXACT MOMENT I HAVE DESCRIBED ABOVE! If the picture doesn't match the description, you will not get any points.

Also, since this is another picture/hotlink-based Challenge, all of you have to send me answers/PMs containing YOUR LINKS ONLY. Shared Links/URLs will get no points.

And, please don't send me links to webpages containing these pictures. You must upload them to your photobucket accounts, or at imagevenue.com/imageshack.com etc., and send me those links in your PM to me.

Be mindful.

THE FIRST ALL-CORRECT ENTRY I RECEIVE WILL WIN A TRIP TO THE REWARD CHAMBER!

The deadline for sending your entries ends on Thursday, 27th May at NOON EST.

You may either send me your entries via PMs, or you may email me at [email protected], mentioning your HDC Nick in the Subject alongwith the Challenge number, for e.g., "___V___ - HDC Battle Royale III Challenge #9 Answers."

You may confer within members of your own team in your quest for the right answers, but each Battle Royale participant should send in their own individual entries.

All the best, folks!

bwind22 05-24-2010 11:43 PM

Oh man that last hunting zone was the most hilarious one yet! The Lycans fuckin suck! ahhahahaa No wonder members of your own team are begging for death. hahahaha What a sorry bunch of losers... Even when they win a challenge, they come out of it worse than us. hahaha. fucktards.

Ditto.

Some of the lycans probably got cross with the vampire shits & becoming a new breed, so lots of sabotages & back stabs seems to happen in next few phases. So we can relax & enjoy the shows meantime. :D

We are still collaborating to make sure that our images aren't identical...We are almost finished...Maybe we'll get an early update :)

bwind22 05-25-2010 08:33 PM

Rayne, the challenge doesn't say the images can't be identical, just that the links cant be.

_____V_____ 05-25-2010 09:11 PM

UPDATE

13 Entries have come in so far, and a whopping EIGHT of them are from the LYCANS!!!

We're too busy trying to find unique pics of each answer even though we do not need to be.

Someone send me all their pics, I'll put them in my own photobucket account and send it in.

Important Rule Regarding Challenge #11

The screencaps you send me SHOULD BE DIFFERENT, for each contestant. If any of them are similar, you stand to LOSE points.

Sorry, but we are advancing in Battle Royale. So the Challenge does get tougher...and will get increasingly tougher.

So, all of those who thought you would merely forward someone else's PMed screencaps, think again...and start hunting those DVDs (or VHSes) down. ;)

That way you all can help each other out.

It was this way in the first Battle Royale...It was this way in the second Battle Royale...I feel it would be safe to think it will be the same this time around...

It is. Everyone who has played BR before knows this. And it is there for a reason since this particular Challenge was inducted in BR for the first time.

(Remember during the first Battle Royale, Urge stayed up practically ALL NIGHT taking screencaps of one-second intervals for his Ash's Chainsaws team!)

That is why everyone are in teams. It's about finding the answers together as a team and working as a well-oiled and coordinated unit (one goes to find a bunch of Changeling SCs, while another tackles FD4, a third looks around for Dust Devil, etc.), and not merely being a lazyass sitting on your bum waiting for someone to pass you the answers and merely forwarding them off to me.

What good does that do for your own self and for your team? Surely in the 72-odd hours (in one Challenge I had given 5 whole days time!), members should find enough time to come online and do some co-ordination with each other.

bwind22 05-25-2010 10:54 PM

I guess I don't have the will or free time in my life to look for specific points in films I don't own to send you a slightly different picture than my teammates so I'll just send you the 4 pictures I do have. I have maybe 5-10 minutes per day to devote to this site. I pop in vote on a tournament or two and check this for any updates.

*shrug*

_____V_____ 05-25-2010 11:07 PM

I think Rayne can help you with this.

When people complete their own challenge, they don't have to try to get a different image, it just happens naturally...A 30-second shot contains quite a few different images, the chance that 2 people out of 10 will get the SAME image is pretty slim...In a 5 second shot, the chance that you will have very similar images from more than 5 people is high, but unavoidable...Percentage of probablity dictates how much effort (if any) someone puts into these challenges

You only have to make sure you have a different image, if you are getting 'help' from someone else, and if there are a wide range of image possibilities.

I know it's a pain, but if that's the rules of the challenge, that's the rule... Come ON, team effort!

You're just ambivalent because you know they won't be targeting you if we lose.

I am gonna get in shit for this but, I call bullshit. Love ya V, but you can't expect people to remember things from one year to the next, especially when they are busy. Last year I had enough shit going on and I only read challenges and my inbox. You didn't put that in your original post for the challenge, you only mentioned having separate links. To bring it up any time after the original post is ridiculous when you know everyone will want their answers in asap. My team DID all work on the challenge together. I can forward you the many messages between all of us both here an on facebook all morning if you want. We just didn't know we had to take a different shot for each person. If this kinda stuff is going to happen, I would rather quit before I'm unfairly killed. That is all.

_____V_____ 05-26-2010 09:10 AM

What is the use of a Challenge, then? Why call it a Challenge either?

And why the 3, 4, 5, even 6-day deadlines given for each Challenge if I get 20 entries within 5 hours?

I didn't highlight it the first year, nor in the second. Both times all teams involved got the information later, but still managed to send in their entries with slightly different screengrabs within the deadline. If in doubt, ask me for clarification. I was sure all the ones from the first two BRs should remember this and pass it on to the newcomers in their team, as like the Wordsearch and Crossword puzzles. I don't have to underline every small thing involved in a Challenge, and you have to agree that one has to earn 30 points first, than merely forwarding links and answers.

I won't debate this further, since everyone seems hellbent on crucifying me over things they should know as a returning contestant.

The Challenge stands scratched.

I'm not trying to crucify anyone. Like I said, I love you and do appreciate the hard work. I'm sure we all do. It's just like having a board game with no instruction booklet. If you haven't played it in a year you may know a few of the rules, but you still need clarification.

Oh yeah sorry team.

I sincerely appreciate your effort because I know you had serious issues, in fact I'm truly surprised that you were able to complete this challenge at all...Saytan is experiencing some severe internet issues, which made her challenge far more 'challenging' as well, but she fought through it and managed to pull through...Chrono was doing more than her fair share, while working the challenge around her job...I have a pretty awesome team :)

That said, it doesn't seem like we should all be penalized because one person forgot how to play, and didn't ask for 'clarification'.

Freak 05-26-2010 11:22 AM

Don't scratch the challenge. We screwed up and it's are fault. We where so worried about getting are answers in fast that we didnt take the time to think.
