You all had a very good time, I'm sure. Bride is my favorite horror film. It's just perfect.

Heh my Hammer kick started a bit over 25 years ago, rarely interrupted :)

So many great films were made by Hammer over their relatively short time making horror films.

MisterSadistro 06-13-2007 06:47 PM

I actually got to see 'Creature From The Black Lagoon' in 3D at the theater with a whole comedy cast send up show before it in Atlanta. Terrific time.
Video is something every night so I won't go into that list.

Seeing as I have not been in existence for 25...my hammer kick is a little more recent...

I got through phases with films...one week it'll be hammer, the next will be modern, followed by '80's, than who knows....I should really get my ADD checked out.

I think it was either The House On Haunted Hill (Price is a genius, but that goes without saying) or Children of The Damned.

Totally agree. I was pissed off at that and vampire assassin...seriously crap. I watched Mark of a Vampire for the first time...I liked the concept of it even though bela lugosi and his daughter weren't playing real vampires in it. I really liked the technique the killer used with the glass...sciency type of stuff.

"The Raven" (1963)
-Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre

In this tongue-in-cheek movie inspired by Poe's poem, Dr. Craven is the son of a great sorcerer (now dead) who was once himself quite skilled at that profession, but has since abandoned it. One evening, a cowardly fool of a magician named Bedlo comes to Craven for help- the evil Scarabus has turned him into a raven and he needs someone to change him back. He also tells the reluctant wizard that Craven's long-lost wife Lenore, whom he loved greatly and thought dead, is living with the despised Scarabus.

I've always loved this movie. Despite the fact it's more like a "Dr. Strange" comic than Poe's poem. It's a lot of fun to watch

"Pharoahs Curse" (1957)

Archaeologists in Egypt find one of their crew has been turned into a blood sucking mummy after they have unleashed a three thousand year curse by entering a Pharaoh's tomb.

fun shlock. A "B' movie all the way

The Creeping Flesh- wonderful little non-sensical number starring Cushing & Lee. Cushing an obsessed scientist, Lee as the head of an insane asylum. Cushing has this bizarre skeleton of a prehistoric creature that he is trying to bring back to life by.... rubbing water on it!

It's a lot of fun and pretty cheesey- even by the standards of the day.

The Creeping Flesh is a great film... right down to the "twist" at the end.

Just finished watching Dracula, Prince of Darkness. Follow-up to Horror of Dracula, this one misses out on Cushing and any dialogue from Lee. Still, an enjoyable entry into the Hammer Dracula saga.
