For non-horror I've gotta go with Prizzi's Honor since one of my all time favorite character actors, William Hickey Jr., finally won an academy award for his role in this film.
For horror, Cat People. It's not so much a remake as it is a complete "re-imagining." The awe-inspiring visuals and the haunting David Bowie soundtrack seal the deal for me. |
