STRAW DOGS, unrated extended version, was graded a "skuf disc" and so was half the usual $8.50 price at the local used video store. Didn't buy THE SPAGHETTI WEST right off as I wasn't sure a 56 minute documentary was worth the price of a regular movie. Later in the day I decided it was but before I went back to get it I checked Amazon to see if they had a cheap copy. And they did: $99 for the cheapest. Next time I should just follow my gut.

horcrux2007 07-27-2014 02:58 PM

Yesterday I bought Carrie (1976), Manhunter, season 1 of Hannibal, Hellraiser, and Saw II. I started collecting movies at Christmas 2013, so I only have 39 movies, but when I get paid (for a little summer job I had), I'm gonna get The Tunnel, Cube, Rosemary's Baby, Stephen King's IT, Saw III, and Oculus (bringing it up to 44 if you don't like addition :P).

horcrux2007 07-28-2014 08:11 AM

Aaaand I just bought Saw III from Amazon... not sure when it should come in, but I'm guessing Monday. I think I'm gonna wait until October to buy any more.

Went with the better half to our local BJ"s and found the entire run of THE X FILES (for her...not crazy about it at all), THE ITALIAN JOB (2003-both of us, but more her) and SIN CITY which I liked quite a lot .
Prices were too good to pass up...

My DVD's for Hannibal, Aliens, and Saw IV came in a couple days ago.

Is Hannbial TV as good as Hannibal the movie? I don't know if Hannibal is Hannibal without Hopkins.

Mads Mikkelsen is arguably better than Anthony Hopkins, and the show is better than almost all the movies (except Manhunter, which I think is the best Hannibal movie).

it's funny you asked, as just this weekend my brother asked me if i'd seen the Fargo series, I've not. This morning I was grocery shopping and coincidentally saw the film in the sales section and bought it :)

It's a very good series. Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman are excellent!

I buy all of my movies from FYE and amazon. I get a lot of perks because I shop there frequently and, well, they're impressed that a fourteen year old comes in to buya bunch of 80's horror movies.

Thanks I guess. One of my friends claimed to be an 80's movie fan just because he likes Terminator, yet he's never heard of Re-Animator or Night of the Creeps. I mentioned those movies, and he shut the hell up.

Anyhoo, The Thing is one of my all-time scariest movies. Really freaked me out.

Well, I was a teenager through most of the 80's so I pretty much seen most of the movies from that era. I like Night of the Creeps and The Thing but I'm not a fan of Re-Animator.

There were sooooo many movies back then, I don't think I can remember them all...LOL. I was trying to remember when Sleepaway Camp came out, love the ending!! I also remember watching Blood Feast on my 16th birthday and my mom left the room because it grossed her out so much!!! Good times!!

I didn't like Blood Feast at all. Sleepaway Camp is okay I guess.

I just bought The Descent.

Damn Heathen 08-31-2014 08:43 AM

Pumpkin Man (1998)

I didn't do my due diligence before I bought this. Expecting something like Jack-O or Jack O'Lantern, I received a quaint tale about dealing with divorce, just in case I become a child of divorce in adulthood. Well, at least the titular creature is cool.
