Hercules In The Haunted World
|
Sunshine. 07/10
The premise is good...REALLY good. A group of astronauts going to re-ignite the dying sun in the future...then facing such unforeseen moments of terror because...(here's the plot twist so I wont spoil it). And coming from Danny Boyle of 28 Days/Weeks Later fame, this ought to be good. The effects are mind-blowing, and are some of the best I ve seen in a movie so far. If it wasnt for some of the weaker characterisations and some loss of atmospheric creepiness in the latter half of the movie, I would have given it an 8 or a 9. But this is one truly fantastic sci-fi movie of recent times. It is unsettling, disturbing and depressing, and manages to keep you glued till the end. Watch it. Recommended by me. |

Animal House
Such an excellent movie. Few college/teen comedies have even come close. |
Premonition
Crap. Don't waste your time. Boring, confusing, predictable and lame. Sandra Bullock acts fine, but the problem is she's acting in a shitty movie that doesn't know it sucks. Plotholes abound and in the end, there's no resolution or explanation for any of the nonsense we just sat through. F |
Patton Oswalt: No Reason to Complain
If you've never seen this dude's stand-up, then check him out. He's great. My wife & I had the pleasure of seeing him open for Dave Atell a few years ago and we've been fans ever since. (He's also the lead in Ratatouille, so he's becoming well known in recent months.) That being said, this wasn't his funniest stuff. It's entertaining as stand-up comedy gets, but he has better jokes then some of what we see here. B |
Hot Fuzz. First viewing since the cinema.
Quality. Good stuff, I'd reccomend it...just don't expect a carbon copy of Shaun, it's completely different. |
