Captivity. 04/10
This started off with some promise, but soon petered downhill really bad. With the "Hitchcock"-ian twists too predictable, and the atmosphere going down badly, Elisha Cuthbert tries her best to keep the movie engrossing. Now this is one gal who has the perfect blend of beauty and talent. I was more than impressed with her in The Quiet, and she continues to impress. The story is fairly predictable, and the direction is pathetic. Dont expect Saw or Hostel here (its nothing of THAT sort), its just a fair entertainer in terms of thrillers. Watch it if you have nothing else to watch OR if you want to see the pretty and talented Elisha Cuthbert, otherwise give this one a skip. You wont miss much. |

The Score (2001)
Besides a pathetically over-the-top performance by Jamie Harrold, and the fact that Brando looks and sounds exhausted, this is a top-notch thriller. In contrast with the other two, DeNiro and Norton are superb, and Frank Oz's direction is suspenseful and tight. |

Dead Silence
I don't see why there are so many haters. I found it to be a fun, creepy and very traditional ghost story - rather refreshing. A cool look, some mediocre acting and a silly story. Good times. B |
