Friday the 13th (1980)
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Dracula (1931)

Saw the Morgue mag-book at Barnes & Noble and can't wait to find one used.
Picked this up today:

Mostly from the 60s and 70s, the only recognizable star (to me at least) being Cameron Mitchell. All used videos (dvd and vhs) are 50% off this weekend at the local music/video store which means this only cost me $3.50. The trick with flicks like these is not to judge them on their entirety but on their component parts. They can be hit and miss and the best one can do is hope the good parts outweigh the bad.

Freak 03-11-2013 09:48 PM

Too much, I'll find it eventually for 4 or 5 bucks.

metternich1815 03-26-2013 12:11 PM

Yeah, I have purchased several $20 movies. The most expensive film I purchased was Silent Night Deadly Night (1984) for $56, before Amazon offered the same product for $10. I paid $15 or less for most of my horror movies. Well, I hope you end up finding House of Wax (1953) for $4 or $5 (or less).

I actually passed it up for that price once but only because I had already spent too much on some harder to find films. I know good and well that I could go to The Little Shop of Horrors and buy it for $10.

Piranha (1978)
Tales from the Crypt (1972)/Vault of Horror (1973)

My number one way of buying horror movies is I go to Newbury Comics and check out their used section looking for familiar movies and cheesy looking movies that I've never heard of before. I end up spending only about $3-$6 on a movie and leave with a handful.

metternich1815 03-31-2013 04:44 PM

I prefer to buy dvds new because I don't want to take the risk that they are scratched up.

I've never ran into that problem.

Yeah, here in Indianapolis I have five Disc Replay stores where I can find movies for $3-$10, four Half Priced Books where I can find them for $3-$8, and a couple of mom and pop used bookstores for $4-$10. Then there is The Little Shop of Horrors, which I don't frequent too often due to the jacked up prices, where I can find just about anything I'm looking for. Truth is though that between the Disc Replays and the Half Priced Book stores I come across tons of hard to find horror films.
