I really enjoy those - I take the box sets with me when i'm travelling

I watched the first 2 Dr Who specials ... the 5 specials that take place between season 4 and season 5

in the first season "the Next Doctor" it was a surprise to see the guy who plays the Governor in The Walking Dead

My favorite Inside the Actor's Studio episode remains the one with Robin Williams. I laughed until my stomach hurt.

It always surprises me when I see David Morrissey in a British production using his native accent. He did such a convincing Georgia accent on The Walking Dead that, for the longest time, I thought he really was from Georgia.

I had no idea he was British

Homeland.
Now that the season has finished I can start watching.
I'm doing that with a lot of shows now, especially those that tend to have mid season splits - the marathon, is such an excellent way to fully absorb and become invested in a show I find...the comparison to week-to-week, it comes out on top.
Season seems interesting so far, 3 eps in now.
Never though I'd enjoy the show at all, and I'm amazed they made it go past the initial premise of the first season, but IMO they've done so well, it's a tense, atmospheric show, some of the situations and the general quality of the performances makes me really feel for the characters.

I'd be very interested in looking at the "prisoners of war" show it's supposeldy based on.

urgeok2 12-29-2013 04:43 AM

Finished the last of the DR Who specials - that's the end of David Tennant.
Sad to see him go - he was fun when he was being manic..

they really explored the effect that changing Doctors have on the Dr with him - which i believe was actually a reflection on how the fans felt .. frustration on both sides when you really get attached.

Dr Who has never been more popular than with Tennant as the Dr.
Popular word wide - popular with women, I think he'll always be known as the most popular Dr when the old Tom Baker fans cycle out.

(Pertwee will always be my favourite)

He was mine too. The first episodes I watched were with him so I guess I've got a soft spot for him... kinda like Roger Moore era Bond.

Exactly the same. Moore was my first bond too
Although the Craig movies are so much better as a whole

Starting to get caught up on the tv show box sets I've been stockpiling
Last night I cracked open Dollhouse and watched the first 4 episodes
Not too bad

Watched some dr who season 5 before that
I'm not crazy about the 11th dr so far

MichaelMyers 12-30-2013 07:52 AM

My friends, who know how I love my horror, gifted me seasons 1-3 of Walking Dead for my birthday and I have been watching those continuously. Can't imagine waiting a week to see the conclusion to some of these episodes.

SPOILERS
And I'm sick and tired of Audrey constantly changing "personalities". Plus, I didn't like the character of William - to me they had zero chemistry onscreen. She had more chemistry with Duke and Nathan.

I like the setting of Haven so I'll always watch the show. But I think they went too far with the twists this year. There were like three or four twists with characters that they just didn't need to do. I guess Audrey's is ok. I'm not a fan of it though. Also, they didn't have a Halloween episode this year. And those were some of the better episodes of Haven.

It made me too aggravated. As much as I like the guy that plays Duke (drawing a blank on his name right now), I won't watch it anymore. Although, knowing me, I'll probably be curious by the time the premiere rolls around. LOL

Last show watched was Diners, Drive-ins and Dives

Doctor Who -

I'm sad to see Matt Smith go,I'd put him up there with the best (Tom Baker is still my favourite though ),intresting to see what Capaldi's Doctor will be like.

I wasn't impressed when he first got the gig(He just didn't fit for me),but eventually I really took to him, he just really grew on me.

i'm hoping that's the case for me - I've invested in all the box sets :)
Tennant was a hard act to follow

Just say ep. one of season 6 - and he's way more animated …

it was the Christmas Carol episode - and the best one since he became the Dr

Had never heard of True Detective until you just mentioned it. Sounds good. I'll have to check it out.

Watched the new Grimm and Elementary and started watching Sherlock. It's interesting. I think i prefer Elementary's Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock over Benedict Cumberbatch. Although i like Martin Freeman as Watson better then Lucy Liu.

I wish I got that channel (I have xfinity). I'm subscribed on Facebook... not sure why. When I read the posts it's more like, "Here's what you could be watching if you had this channel."

Yeah, that finale was the most ridiculous ending I've seen yet.

all over the place though - not a good one to watch if you're tired after a brutal day at work .. (I fell asleep and lost track of everything)

I need to break off and watch something else for a bit - I'm getting Dr Who'd out

Elvis_Christ 01-07-2014 04:42 AM

The last episode of The Simpsons. Thought the piracy satire was pretty sharp ::big grin::

hammerfan 01-07-2014 04:54 AM

Diners, Drive-ins and Dives - it was all about pizza. I need to go to Baltimore and check out Joe Squared!

The Villain 01-07-2014 08:51 AM

Shameless

Good premiere. The limited use of Frank Really showed me that the show could go on without him.

hammerfan 01-08-2014 04:43 AM

NCIS
Series premiere of Intelligence - I enjoyed this for the most part. There was some silly dialogue, and some scenes where I thought "Did they really just have him/her say that?!". It's nice to see Josh Holloway (Sawyer on "Lost") on TV again.
