...any one else been watching The Goldbergs? Pretty good comedy in the vein of The Wonder Years but set in the 80s. I've been enjoying it.

Finally watched that episode of Supernatural. I wouldn't exactly call it bad writing, more like lazy writing. Either way I'm not sure about this season. I really can't tell where they're going.

Last shows I watched were Once Upon a Time, Arrow, and Grimm

I know, me neither. Last week's episode was OK. I like when Felicia Day is on.

Good point.

Last night watched NCIS, season finale of Face Off (disappointed, that was not who I wanted to win), and Sons of Anarchy.

Grimm -

Watched both new episodes. The show is still good. I wonder if they tied up something is quickly as it seems.

American Horror Show: Coven -

The last two episodes are missing something. But they are still good.

I haven't seen Dracula yet. I'm going to check that out soon.

Once Upon a Time
The Walking Dead

The Villain 11-11-2013 08:19 PM

Grimm
Walking Dead

I finished Season 5 of Doctor Who. Definitely the weakest season so far. The finale was ok but it was nowhere near as powerful and memorable as the other finales and there wasn't even a new villain. I'm still not liking Matt Smith as The Doctor. He's too silly, awkward and at times stupid. He doesn't really come off as someone who should be feared and respected for his cunning and ferocity. I'll keep watching, maybe he'll grow on me.

There are definite parallels to be drawn between the two. Silly, playful, clumsy, dangerously curious. And in reference to both of these incarnations people say it is an intentional ruse to cover his darker self. However, despite Smith's best efforts he can't pull it off as well as Baker. Baker had such an enigmatic, layered performance that you truly didn't know where you stood with him, whereas Smith is far more transparent...

...or inconsistent. This isn't so much his fault as the showrunners. His incarnations morals are all OVER the place. One minute he's screaming at someone for making an idle threat, the next he's committing genocide against the Cybermen. Smith isn't amazing, but he's definitely a victim of a bad period of the show. Moffat's succeeded in getting the show to perhaps it's most prolific point in history, but to do so he lost the careful, in-depth, character driven stories of the past in favour of one-liners and moments of ridiculous spectacle that exist purely for the internet (the Doctor rides a motorbike up the Shard, fish fingers and custard etc.)

Well, I only watched part of Haven. I'm not enjoying this season so far. I try, I give it at least 30 minutes. Not liking the direction they're going.
